Join us for our 1st Annual celebration of this fun Polish tradition! We will be serving pierogis and dancing to Polka music all night! Dyngus Day is traditionally the Monday after Easter - we are holding a "delayed" celebration on a Friday to prolong the fun!
WHAT IS DYNGUS DAY?
Dyngus Day (Śmigus-Dingus in Polish), a Polish tradition, celebrates the end of the observance of Lent and the joy of Easter. In Cleveland, Dyngus Day has become a wonderful holiday to celebrate Polish- and Eastern European-American culture, heritage and traditions and our Polka heritage. "Everybody is Polish on Dyngus Day!”
Dyngus Day tradition holds that men and women firltatiously sprinkle each other with water and tap each other with pussy willow branches, which symbolize the first budding plants of spring.
