Don’t miss out on Downtown Euclid’s biggest, best party of the year, emceed by Euclid resident and entertainer extraordinaire Rob Coleman, Jr.!
Join us on Friday, September 13th from 5-8pm in Triangle Park in front of Shore Cultural Centre, with activity spilling onto the sidewalks along Lakeshore Blvd and a temporarily closed-to-vehicles section of Babbitt Road (closure begins north of PNC Bank and ends south of the Aldi’s plaza driveway between 2pm and 10pm on Friday only).
Check out the City of Euclid’s web calendar, Facebook page and pick up a rack card for details and timing of special events on the main stage including the Mayor’s welcome at 5:45pm, a 6:30pm performance by Tam Tam Magic African Drum and Dance and a tour of Shore Cultural Centre’s artist studios.
All evening long, stop by the Keep Euclid Beautiful table at the corner of E.222nd Street and Lakeshore Boulevard where Euclid resident and Euclid High School (EHS) art teacher Meg Garbincus will be painting the newest addition to Downtown’s growing public art collection. Her Euclid “postcard” mural will be underway and everyone who stops by to snap a selfie with the work-in-progress will get a free, mail-able postcard printed with the artwork.
Other event highlights include performances by Pickup-Stix stilt walkers, modern dancer Tom Evert, musicians Brendan Cosgriff, Victor Samalot, the Bill Lestock Duo and Darian Stitt of Artistic Rebels Hip Hop. There will be many opportunities to make art - with vendors and community partners including the Euclid Art Association (in Art Alley) and the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Studio Go – and observe the process of art-making with live painting, caricature and more!
Photography from this year’s #thisiseuclid photo contest and the City’s social media intern Stephen Grier will be on display as well as artwork for sale by students from EHS and Cleveland School of the Arts. And be sure to strike a pose when you see EHS senior and official event photographer Lori Lee with her camera!
This City of Euclid-led initiative is designed by and for community members to bring both temporary and permanent vibrancy to Downtown Euclid. This will be the fourth annual art walk – and with you there, the best one yet!
